Biography

Hong Suzhuang, Chief Physician at Xiang'an Hospital Affiliated to Xiamen University, has been engaged in clinical work in plastic and aesthetic surgery for nearly 40 years and has rich clinical experience. She specializes in double eyelid surgery, eye bag removal, rhinoplasty, liposuction and body contouring, fat grafting, breast plastic surgery, abdominoplasty, laser aesthetic treatment, and traditional reconstructive plastic surgery such as cleft lip and palate repair, scar revision, and congenital deformity correction.

She graduated from the Department of Clinical Medicine, Fujian Medical University, with a bachelor's degree in 1984, and obtained a master's degree from Ulster University in the UK. In 1984, she studied under Professor Wang Damei at Peking University Third Hospital and began her work in plastic and aesthetic surgery. She has visited Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital and Beijing Plastic Surgery Hospital multiple times for professional observation and study. She is one of the earliest doctors in Fujian Province to practice plastic and aesthetic surgery. Since 1988, she has worked in the Department of Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery at Zhongshan Hospital Affiliated to Xiamen University, and she has studied and worked in the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Ulster Hospital in Belfast, UK. In 2024, she was appointed Chief Physician and Discipline Leader of the Department of Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery and Wound Repair at Xiamen University Medical Center (Xiang'an Hospital of Xiamen University).

She is engaged in clinical and applied technology research in plastic and aesthetic surgery. She has led or participated in multiple national, provincial, and municipal scientific research projects. She has published more than 10 papers in journals including Chinese Journal of Plastic Surgery, Chinese Medical Aesthetics, and Journal Plastic Surgery & Hand Surgery.
